MONGOLIA IS JUST LIKE NEBRASKA - ONLY DIFFERENT!

DATELINE THURSDAY - Mongolia time!  We're still in Ulaanbaatar (capitol of Mongolia) just hanging out with the Mongols.  There's really not much else to do on the "steppes" of Siberia except wander around and try to avoid the pick-pockets (easy), the yaks (moderate) and the lepers (very difficult!).  The train across Siberia to Moscow only comes through here once a week and we've got tickets on it for tomorrow.  Thank you Jesus!

Today we decided to ride the #4 bus from near our hostel to the city plaza.  Okay, a ticket costs 8 cents (NOT KIDDING), the bus was made in Russia before Tzar's were in power and it broke down in a spectacular shower of sparks (NOT KIDDING) stranding us in the middle of nowhere.  All the locals on the bus took off running in every direction like it was their fault, we just climbed on another bus and (since we didn't see it was a different number) rode it for two f'ing hours around the slums of Ulaanbaatar!  We'll call it the "8 cent city tour!"  Talk about budget travel!

For lunch Kevin had boiled Yak meat (NOT KIDDING) and chipped his tooth on one of the bones.  It wasn't a big deal because of course they accept Blue Cross here in Mongolia and they are known for their world class dental work!  While Kevin was in the chair he also had a couple of fillings replaced, a root canal and his teeth whitened.  It certainly was better than the kidney transplant he had in Mexico to save money last year!  We also tried to be like Brad Pitt and his wife with the big lips and adopt a Mongolian baby, but we found out that it cries and poops just like American babies so we opted out.  Finally, since the 2008 Riding4Beer World Tour is sponsored by Budweiser, we found a bogus bar using a fake Bud logo and we called the cops on them!  Let's just say that trademark enforcement is not high on the Mongolian Police "to-do" list.  But speaking of "to-do" lists, we have "to-do" some more beer drinking now...

ATTENTION!  WE LEAVE ON THE TRAIN ACROSS SIBERIA TOMORROW AND IT WILL TAKE ABOUT FIVE DAYS!  WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO POST AGAIN UNTIL WE REACH MOSCOW - ROUGHLY ON TUESDAY.  PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTEN, BUT DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING BEFORE THEN (unless it's from the State Department!).

SIX PICTURES TODAY - STILL NO VIDEO - MONGOLIAN INTERNET TOO SLOW!

The 8 cent bus ride. We shoulda ran like everyone else!     We ate at a mongolian barbecue - WE'RE IN MONGOLIA YOU IDIOTS!

Boiled Yak meat - Tasty, but watch for the bones!               Tooth repair is no problem - They're a Blue Cross Preferred Provider!

We were gonna adopt, but he cries just like every other baby!                 Our motto, "use the Bud logo illegally and go to prison!

Take care our friends. 5 days on a train packed with Mongolians has got to be, shall we say, interesting?.  We are sure that you two lunatics will find some way to get into trouble, ie: teaching pole dancing and other notable entertainment functions?

ummmm, that yak meat, can you send us their website?  We would love to place an order for a shipment.  Stacy, we think you should adopt that baby - Kevin would be a wonderful father to that child and you wouild be a terrific mother.  That child would bond with you in a way you would never imagine - going with you on Saturday nites at the Roadhouse - oh what fun.  Take care, have a great time and remember, we cannot help but love you two.

Hey guys, you should have had the wonderful chicken feet. We heard it is crispy. Does that fit into Stacy's Vegitarian diet - since it is only feet?
