FRIDAY- Are you kidding us?  Friday in Barcelona, baby!  So here’s the deal.  We weren’t kidding when we said that the hotel where we were staying was run by a bunch of “haters.”  The bastards charged us $25 bucks to hook up to the internet for 12 hours, $5 bucks for a bottle of drinking water and they wouldn’t even let our new friend, “Rosario,” sleep in our room with us.  That’s even after she told them she would get them into the club she dances at with no cover charge!  Sooooooo, to make a long story short, we packed up and moved to a hotel downtown that’s run by Rosario’s “uncle” that’s located right on LA RAMBLA!

In real estate we all know that only three things matter, location, location and location.  Let’s just say that while our hotel lacks certain luxuries (like carpet, windows or running water) its location is AWESOME!  It’s on an alley just two buildings off of La Rambla (pick pocket capital of Spain!), our room on the third floor looks right down into the courtyard of a bar (NOT KIDDING) and since it doesn’t have glass in the window frames we don’t need air conditioning and we can listen to the Flamingo music from the bar all night for free!  Can it get any better than this?

YES IT CAN!  We’re in Barcelona, it’s the weekend and our hotel is literally crawling distance from hundreds of bars (all of which serve ice cold Budweiser – the “King of Beers!”).  There’s another upside to this whole Spain “thing,” – IT’S THE CHEAPEST COUNTRY IN WESTERN EUROPE!  That’s right, we can actually afford to eat at McDonald’s and still have money left over for a few Budweisers (which they serve at McDonald’s – NOT KIDDING!).  Folks, it’s late afternoon here, we’ve digested our Big Macs and the bar in the courtyard is starting to fill up.  Guess what we’re doing next…
