BILL CLINTON'S WIFE WAS RIGHT ABOUT ONE THING (and only one thing!) - "IT TAKES A VILLAGE!"

SATURDAY!  Yesterday was our first full day back home after the 2008 Riding4Beer World Tour.  Can you say "jet lag?"  There's a reason we circled the world by trains, motorcycles, boats and cars - AIRPLANES MESS WITH YOUR CLOCK!  On Thursday we flew 16 hours from Amsterdam to Los Angeles and let's just say we still don't know what time zone we're in (we usually don't know anyway, but that's besides the point!).

Anyway, after a day of sorting the mail (overdue bill pile, collection notice pile, subpoena pile, etc.), sterilizing the trailer (we should have cleaned the toilets and taken the garbage out before we left in June!), and buying some food to eat (Walmart SuperCenter, Baby!), we're pretty much settled in and ready to get back into a rut.  Seriously, we like rutting, don't you?  (no need to email us on that - it's a rhetorical question).

Folks, while we were traveling the world (sponsored by Budweiser), and you were all enjoying this website, there were many people working behind the scenes to make it all possible.  It seems like it would be easy to just lock up the mobile home and hit the road, but unfortunately even deadbeats like us have loose ends that need to be handled.  Below are all of the people (besides yourselves!) that kept the 2008 Riding4Beer World Tour running and allowed us to ultimately circle the earth.  If we left anyone out, it's probably because you didn't pay us like these folks to have your picture on the web, but there's always tomorrow...

Lowell & Marsha manage the trailer park where we live in Palm Springs.  During our three month trip they made sure our Rent-to-Own payments were current, kept the battery charged in our 1986 Ford Taurus and in general made sure that bill collectors and process servers were chased off before they could nail any notices to our mobile home.

Mike & Tonya were responsible for handling all of our mail, refusing delivery of certified letters (they're always subpoenas!) and screening any suspicious packages for anthrax.  You may not know this but the Post Office (our favorite government agency after the DMV!) will only hold your mail for 30 days - sorta sucks when you're gone for three months.

Sandra and Mike handled all of our issues in New Orleans.  This wasn't an easy job since it meant they had to periodically open up our rented room in the French Quarter, chase out the cockroaches, keep the paperwork moving with our Louisiana Public Defender and make sure all our stripper friends were being treated well by their pimps.

Greg & Eleanor own and operate the world famous Palm Canyon RoadHouse in Palm Springs where the original idea for the 2008 Riding4Beer World Tour was hatched in a drunken stupor.  We still think it was just a ploy by them to get us out of their bar for three months, but every week on Wednesday they waited patiently for our live broadcast from around the world to display on their big screen TV.  It sorta sucked that they spent thousands getting the equipment to receive our transmissions and then we were usually too drunk to do them.

Brad & Julie who showed up every Wednesday night to watch the broadcasts that never happened.  We even received a call via satellite phone from Brad one night in Africa when he said they had over 200 people waiting for us to start transmitting.  But even without our broadcasts, for some reason we think they still got along just fine.

Cary & Guy in Wisconsin.  They are the co-presidents of the Riding4Beer Fan Club and if you ever read any of the comments posted by our website readers you know that they never missed a day without enlightening us (and you) with their keen insights into human nature.  Let's say it one more time, "...you cannot help but love them!"

Bill, Kelly & Mark - THE BUDWESIER TEAM!  Folks, these are the people that wrote the checks, gave us clothes to wear, wired money when we ran out (several times) and provided us with tons of "give-aways" so we could keep bartenders happy around the world!  We're PROUD to have the 2008 Riding4Beer World Tour sponsored by Budweiser and guess what?  2009 is just a few months away (hint, hint!).

Oh yeah - and the two kids of ours that we let live, Abby & Matt.  They would occasionally post comments on the website (under assumed names), occasionally ask us for some of Budweiser's money (they got none!) and always claim they could have made the trip with us, "no sweat..."  Well, photos don't lie and based on these we think they still need some more training, but at least their trying to follow in our footsteps...

LOL!  You make it look like I was drunk in that pic, but I was really tired from following you up the mountain that day on the hike.

Unbelievable. Bush spent millions on US security and yet you both easily slipped back into the country. More government screw-up. I am proud of you both, evading police authorities in 15 or more countries, the CIA, FBI and making it into the Bureau of Miscellanious Information list. But now that you have been back home for a couple of days - - what have you done for us lately? Love you both.
